Oracle State Park

Posted January 6, 2012

I am one of the Friends of Oracle State Park trying to get the word out about the park’s reopening next month.  If you haven’t been there, the park really is a gem.  It is a 4,000 acre wildlife refuge with oak woodland and desert grassland; views of the Catalinas, the San Pedro River Valley, and the Galiuro Mountains; a historic ranch house; and 15 miles of trail for hikers, bikers, and equestrians.

Oracle State Park opens February 4th. Opening day is free! Come out to cycle, hike, and ride, or visit the Historic Kannally Ranch House and the botanical gardens.

Hours of operation are: Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm, February, March, April, September, October, and November.

Visit (or link) to our web site: FriendsOSP.org to see all the ongoing activities and events.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact me at 520-896-9463.

Sincerely, Jenine Mayer, Friend of Oracle State Park

New website for Glacier National Park

Louisville, Ky. (November 2011) – Just in time for the arrival of the vacation planning season, www.HikinginGlacier.com launched a new website today that gives hikers interested in Glacier National Park a robust source of trail information at their fingertips.

HikinginGlacier.com offers detailed information on more than 60 trails, including trail descriptions, key features, pictures, maps, elevation profiles and more. Additionally, the site is organized to make it easier for hikers to compare and choose trails that best suit their hiking preferences. Before the launch of HikinginGlacier.com, hikers had difficulty finding web-based trail information for Glacier National Park. Most existing sites list only a handful of the most popular trails, and provide only limited information without regard to individual hikers’ skill level or preferences. More...
