TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - They go hiking without water.

They wear sandals to Sabino Canyon.

And when the worst happens, it's the taxpayers who pony up the dough.
 
Here in Arizona, we have a 'Stupid Motorist Law'.  It says, if you bypass a barrier and floor it into a flooded wash, you have to pay for part of your rescue.
 
Now some are asking, is it time to hold hikers to that same 'stupid' standard? More...

The marathon begins at 6 a.m. Sunday morning, but roads are expected to be closed beginning at 5:15 a.m., with full and partial closures throughout the race.  Organizers drive up the mountain at the early morning start, and vehicles that arrive after the race begins will have to wait on a pilot car to get to the top.  This service will continue until all runners are off the mountain.

So be prepared for this if planning a trip up Mt. Lemmon on Sunday.

Volunteers Needed

SAHC Guides:

Summit Hut is holding their Spring Sale & Outdoor Expo March 16 and 17 at the Speedway store. SAHC would like to have a table at the Expo. We need volunteers to staff the table. Each person would need to be there for either a morning or afternoon either day. Hours are 9-6 Saturday and 10-5 Sunday.
