Seasonal closure lifted on Carr Canyon Road

Seasonal closure lifted on Carr Canyon Road and campgrounds

Road and sites reopened to public use
The Coronado National Forest, Sierra Vista Ranger District, has reopened upper Carr Canyon (Forest Road 386). Ramsey Vista and Reef Townsite campgrounds, located in Carr Canyon, have also been reopened.
The seasonal closure was put in place for public safety, which is a primary concern when closing roads for the winter season.  Hazardous conditions, including snow and ice on roadways, can lead to difficulty traveling and may result in accidents or vehicles becoming stranded. Seasonal closures may reduce such inconveniences and prevent serious accidents or injury.
For more information please contact the Sierra Vista Ranger District, located at 4070 S. Avenida Saracino in Hereford, Arizona.  The office can be reached by phone by calling (520) 378-0311.  Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
